I am a huge fan of J.K. Rowling and the Harry Potter Series... what's not to love? Of all the things that makes the series great, I LOVE all the wordplay Rowling uses. My first post talked about the origin of Ludo Bagman, a character from the fourth book. Today I learned another word origin.
In the fourth book, a school (called Durmstrang) enters the story line. "Strang" and "Durm" are German words for storm and stress... normally used to describe a period of adolescence. It fits the grouchy, surly students from the school perfectly!
For your pondering, the newest HP Movie preview... it comes out soon!
Stay tuned for more HP love :)
